Wouldn’t it be great if you could just figure out the SQL that would allow you to pull Dynamics AX data from that complicated financial table setup. Recently, I had a client give me a challenge where they wanted me to come up with a way that they could utilize their existing staff who had strong .NET and SQL experience, but very little AX experience and provide a series of queries that their staff could use to build AX reports and build on to learn Dynamics AX. The queries ranged across all areas of AX, but this particularly SQL query will teach you how to query financial data and bring in all the dimensions. Pay attention to the methods that are used. I’ve shared many of my tips and tricks towards getting out reports, which according to my clients, are not seen that frequently. Enjoy for all you report writers.
